Welcome To Our Library!
The Lee Library is located at 100 Main Street, right in the center of the town of Lee, Massachusetts. Appropriately called the "Gateway to the Berkshires", this small, friendly town offers easy access to the many cultural and natural attractions of our region.
We take pride in providing modern library resources and services in a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. The Lee Library participates fully in regional library associations which allow us to share library materials, technology, and expertise across a large population of libraries.
The original part of the Lee Library was built in 1907 and is the only remaining "Carnegie library" building in the Berkshires. Lee Marble Works quarried and cut the marble used in the construction of the building.
The only true equalisers in the world are books; the only treasure-house open to all comers is a library; the only wealth which will not decay is knowledge. (from "The Praise of Books", 1880)
